The Séance of Blake Manor

Developed by multi-award-winning Irish development studio Spooky Doorway, the signing of the supernatural first-person mystery game to publisher Raw Fury was announced in March 2025, with a release date of late October to coincide with Halloween. With a focused PR campaign of just over six months, we wanted to focus on the pedigree of the development team, the emphasis on the Irish mythology within the story – an area that we could push towards the mainstream media, the Halloween release, and the overall quality of the game itself.

Beginning with a hands-on first look in June for selected UK media, we secured previews in The Guardian and PCGamesN among others. This was the beginning of the ‘buzz’ for the game. From there, we worked hard and secured Halloween features in Forbes, and Gaming Bible, leading into a comprehensive review campaign including The Guardian (5/5), Gamespew (10/10), Metro (9/10), Games Radar (4.5/5), and The Daily Express Online (4.5/5) among many others.

Post-release in December, to maintain the game’s profile for the end-of-year awards, we managed to secure additional features in The Guardian, Rock Paper Shotgun, PC Gamer, and Gamespew.
